Not everyone has enough storage space in their bathrooms for all of their make-up and beauty supplies. We have some tips on how to maximize and organize your space for your make-up essentials.
If you have to leave things out on your counter, use storage containers that are decorative and practical. We used a glass jar filled with crystal beads for our make-up brushes.
To keep things from spreading all over your counter find a container or tray that you can keep everything together when you are done getting ready. We found this great gold serving tray to keep everything displayed but organized.
Lipsticks are colorful and are a natural decorative accent to a bathroom space. We organized them in a clear container so you can see their colors and they brighten up the space.
Most of us have favorite jewelry pieces we wear more than others. We used a smaller tray to keep ours in when we take our jewelry off at night. Now it is a decoration and easily accessible the next day.
Finally, add some personal touches of your own. We added some plants and flowers, a beaded crown, a bottle of perfume and even a decorative mirror.
To make getting ready less frantic and more fun, organize and beautify your vanity.
We always feel like time flies but this year back to school seemed to just creep right up on us. Our mom always hated back to school and she would say, “school just gets in the way of all my fun with my kids.” She loved spending time with us. One of the things that took away the dread of going back to school was shopping for clothes and supplies. This always seemed to bring a little excitement to ending our summer fun and beginning a new school year.
We have some of the cutest kids in our family and neighborhood so what better way to show them off than to have them model their favorite back to school outfits. In doing this, something interesting happened. We did not give the parents and kids any instructions other than to have them pick their favorite outfit. When we grouped the kids together by elementary, jr high and high school ages, it became obvious what the back to school trends are. The older kids really liked the more muted tones of blues, greens, greys, and neutrals. For the younger kids there seemed to be more patterns and typical fall colors. We were impressed at how well they put themselves together and how excited they were to show up and have a fun photoshoot. See if you recognize any of the trends your kids or others are wearing in our pictures.
With fall and back to school right around the corner, we decided to challenge ourselves to see if we could find fall fashions for under $50. We had such a great time searching and shopping. There was some work involved and a little frustration at times but in the end we were laughing and having the best time coming up with different combinations. We commiserated about our age and our bodies and our wrinkles and then we just accepted them and decided that we are who we are and who better to go through this aging process with than your sisters. We can be brutally honest and unconditionally loving all in one breath. We hope you enjoy what we came up with and that you too can find a way to pinch a penny or save a dime when doing your fall shopping.
Some tips we would like to share are:
· Wait for the sales
· Check often because new merchandise comes in and the barely old merchandise goes on sale.
· Look for new markdowns on Tuesdays
· It only takes one or two new pieces to really freshen up your wardrobe.
· Our mother taught us to spend more on quality classic basics and spend less on anything trendy
· For example: a great pair of jeans, a black pencil skirt, a great jacket, white layering t’s, a long vest and a great pair of booties that go with everything. White is generally not something we wear in the fall but it can be used as an accent or layering piece.

Traveling to other states and countries around the world can be fun and exciting. Sometimes staying in your own state and traveling can be just as fun. We have had quite a busy week. On top of Heidi being in wedding planning mode, we decided to take a quick trip to St. George, then from there to Lake Powell which technically could be considered Phoenix depending on where you are standing at the moment, and then back north to Midway. One of the things that impressed us the most was how beautiful the scenery was no matter where we were. From the gorgeous red cliffs in St. George and beautiful water and sunsets in Lake Powell and the majestic mountains in Midway, we were constantly surrounded by beauty. Our mother has always said that living in Utah is like living in a picture. We happen to agree with her.
Our adventurous week included visiting with our parents in St. George, playing cards, exercising up and down the hill behind their house, and breakfast the next morning. We then continued on our way to Lake Powell for a couple of days for fun in the sun and water. Suzanne and her husband Bruce have a ski boat and house boat docked in Wahweap where we stayed. One of the magical things about Lake Powell is the ability to go out on the lake for boating fun and then be able to come back to a luxurious house boat for games, movies, reading and of course eating until we are stuffed and then eating some more. We get to see amazing sunsets and listen to the occasional rain storm while sitting in the boat which just adds to the magic. Heidi and Steve had to leave early to get back to attend to other commitments. Heidi headed up to Midway where her girls were at a dance convention. It was hosted at the Zermatt resort in Midway which is absolutely breathtaking. What resort has a carousel in their courtyard? The Zermatt does!!!!! We were surrounded by the gorgeous green mountains and trees. Heidi got to watch her girls dance in the same room at the same time which never happens. Hannah had the opportunity to also help run the Jo and Jax dancewear booth for one of her favorite teachers and mentors, Joey Dowling. At one point Heidi also had to run back down to Provo for a baptism for our other sister, Lisa’s grandchild and then back up to Midway for the rest of the convention. Whew!!!!! Exhausting but fun! We were both so busy and maybe too busy to do any of this traveling, but taking just a little time to experience life and the beauty around us is good for the soul. We are truly blessed to live where we live and be around family and friends that we love.
We have shared some pictures from the week and a couple of pictures from one of our other trips to Lake Powell that we thought should be included. You may or may not see a couple of “mature men” doing some amazing things. You may or may not notice some young kids doing some cool stuff as well.
We all know staying healthy is important. We were all laughing about the fact that as we get older how difficult it can be to do the simple things like getting up off the toilet. When we go up and down stairs, the stairs aren’t the only things creaking. It is important to keep our minds clear as well. We live on a beautiful mountain so we have a lot of hills to use to exercise. When Suzanne and her friends, aka the walkie talkies, go walking every morning on those hills they have coined the phrase 6,000 steps and 25,000 words, each in 45 minutes. We have realized we all like to be active in different ways. Find what works for you and get out and be active. We have gathered together some photos of all the different ways we stay active. We thinks it’s fantastic our eighty plus year old parents get in on the action.
“Walkie Talkies” These ladies roam the hills of the east bench in Provo talking the whole way every morning. If only Heidi could just follow behind and listen in as they share their wisdom and sometimes silliness with one another. Actually she could she’s just not an early morning person.
Hannah prefers weights, ball work outs and elliptical workouts.
Heidi enjoys the gym as well but her favorite workout are stairs or bleachers.
Julie our sister in-law plays basketball in the mornings with all the guys for her exercise. She is one tough lady.
Even our 82 year old mom and 81 year old dad make it a point to walk everyday around the mall a few times. It keeps them healthy and young. Our dad also still plays tennis.
Our niece Nicole enjoys hiking and rock climbing.
Addi, Heidi’s 14 year old dances for her exercise. She doesn’t have time to do anything else.
Suzanne, Lisa and Heidi and their friends Barbara and Denita love to hike through Provo canyon on Saturday mornings. This is when they talk and lift and encourage each other to get through week. After 6 miles things are pretty well under control. Our fingers get a good workout too apparently.
We live in one of the most beautiful places with so many gorgeous scenic hikes and views. We like to hike as families as well. Such a great way to clear your mind, spend time as family, and get a good work out.
So we saw this dress @ posey_and_pence It was a dress we all loved but could we all wear it. Of course we had to take the challenge to see if we could do it and still love it when we had it on. Everyone needs a little black dress or a little red dress in this case..It can be worn by itself, with a sweater, or a jacket. Suzanne loved it with another pair of her favorite high heels, red time. Heidi and her girls loved the red one. We all think Heidi feels pretty sassy in it.
We had decided to take a last minute trip to Lake Powell. It was a little bit of a panic to get ready to go. Of course I “NEEDED” a couple of new swimsuits. I ran down to my favorite store (Lime Ricki) with zero time to try on anything, so I just grabbed two suits that I loved, (with Brianna and my grandsons waiting in the car), I paid and hurried home to pack. I didn’t even have time to try them on at home. UUUUUUGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!! I was a little worried about getting down to Lake Powell and not having a suit that fit. NO WORRIES!!! It fit great!
A few weeks later at the houseboat again we went with our friends the Callisters. Colette and I showed up in the same swimsuit bottoms and different tops. We both agreed we had great taste. I suppose this was inevitable since Colette is the owner of Lime Ricki. (We have some of the most fun and interesting friends.) She is also my yoga instructor as if she weren’t busy enough raising a family and running a business. This is one of the many reasons everyone loves Colette. She is an example of a strong, faithful, kind and hard working woman. Heidi, Colette and Suzanne
Colette and her two sisters, Nicole & Jennifer, started Lime Ricki (We love it when sisters work together) when their daughters complained that they could not find any swimsuits that, for them, were comfortable, modest and cute all at the same time. There are several reasons we have decided to highlight Colette and Lime Ricki. We love that their swimwear is modest, yet fashionable, and that it is appealing to all age groups. That is what our blog is focusing on and here is a great example of that. Heidi loves that she and her 14 year old daughter and 21 year old daughter can all walk in to the same store and find a swimsuit they each like. Lime Ricki also has size runs for all sizes. The other thing we love about Lime Ricki is they do service for others. They donate proceeds to different organizations.Colette has been gracious enough to offer a free swimsuit to one of our followers. So that means another giveaway. Wahooooooo!!!!!! This time to enter you must go follow @youngyoungeryoungest1. On @youngyoungeryoungest1 you must tag 3 people that you think would enjoy our blog and giveaway. We will choose the winner in 3 days. The winner will be able to choose any swimsuit from their collection. Plenty of time to enter and win. Good luck!
Downtown Twin Falls with thrift stores, clothing stores, and even a gourmet cheese shop that all of us were impressed with from adults down to kids.
I know you may be thinking why Idaho? We went to Twin Falls, Idaho to attend my cousin Bret’s wedding. We being me(Heidi), my husband Steve, my daughters Addison and Hannah and Hannah’s fiancé, Cole and of course many other family members. We decided since none of us had ever been to Twin Falls that we would go the night before so that we could explore before the wedding festivities began. We didn’t make any particular plans we just decided to go at the last minute and just see what adventures we could find. To our surprise this was the best thing we could have done. Below are a couple of our adventures we documented. From downtown Idaho to shopping and sightseeing, we were not disappointed.
We decided to just start driving and found an adorable street in downtown with some unique, wonderful shops. They were the kind of places that everyone should know about but they are just these great secrets. Slice pizza restaurant was calling our names as we walked by. It just looked delicious from the outside. It may or may not have been the smell that lured us in. It was an awesome choice. Everything was amazing from the pizza and mac and cheese to the caprese.
We stopped in a clothing store called The Brass Monkey because there were cool things in there for guys as well as girls. This quickly became our favorite because they were giving away free delicious cookies from the cookie store next door. Genious!!!!!! We will be back.
One of the stores we stopped in had a nice gentleman tell us we should go look at the Perrine Bridge. He told us it is 1 of only 3 bridges in the world that is legal to do base jumping from. Of course we had to go see this bridge and try to see some base jumping. Our view from the bridge was breathtaking. And then we saw it!!!! Someone jumped 486 feet to the bottom landing next to the Snake River that ran under the bridge. People just kept jumping!!!! My stomach dropped every time. I may just want to do this one day. Whatever!!!!!!!!
Then on to the wedding.
We quickly got changed and ready for a beautiful wedding and reception. On Murtaugh Lake out in the middle of corn fields and rolling hills. Other than the bugs it was breath taking. So happy for Bret and Mekenna. The next few pictures are of family. I feel so blessed to have a wonderful family and events like this that we can all share.
The only bad part of the weekend was that we had to leave late Saturday night after the reception with a 4 hour drive ahead. We all had different responsibilities to attend to early the next morning starting at 7am and continuing throughout the day. Church meetings, teaching and classes to attend were all important to each of us. For one small moment of time we took a little breather and went on a quick road trip that was spontaneous and fun and gave us time together. We laughed and ate and shopped and spent time with family. Times and seasons as my sweet father always says to me.
We had a blast meeting with Brianna from Kiss Proof Lips by Bree. She sells LipSense lipstick and we played and experimented with all of the different colors. This is amazing lipstick that is great for all ages! It really stays on forever. We love the gorgeous colors and how it makes our lips feel. We are so excited to do a giveaway of one LipSense Collection which includes a color of choice, Glossy Gloss and an Oops Remover. Enter at the bottom of our post. Take it away Brianna!
Hi everyone! I am so excited that the ladies at Young Younger Youngest asked me to tell you about this amazing lipstick called LipSense.A little about myself: I am wife to an amazingly kind and patient husband Kent, a mom to two sweet, active, happy boys named Eli and KJ. I am a Nail Tech who loves makeup, hair, basically anything to do with the Beauty Industry. I am obsessed with watching makeup tutorials on youtube and love trying new products and techniques. With that said, after having two kids I stopped wearing lipstick because I was having too many issues with it. Reapplying…smudging it…reapplying…having it on my teeth…reapplying…getting it on my kids…REAPPLYING!
Then I had a friend tell me about LipSense and I was hooked! What is LipSense? It is a long-lasting lip color that is kiss proof, smudge proof, water proof and pretty much everything else proof! It lasts up to 18 hours and is just amazing! Here I am wearing the color Luv It and I do love it!
These are our top sellers but we have over 70 colors to choose from. And you can even create your own color by layering shades.
I hope you enjoy this video showing the magic of LipSense!
Top Color: B. Ruby

Sitting around chatting with family is our favorite thing to do. When we get together we sing, we laugh, and we solve ALL the world’s problems. One day my daughter Addi was talking about buying a romper. This started a discussion about how each of us would wear a romper. Of course the next logical step was to start a lifestyle blog showing how each one of us would wear different styles at different ages. During our family “get togethers”, we have realized that all the opinions and ideas or ways of doing things vary because we are all at different stages of life.
We often have 5 generations at our gatherings. Our goal is to represent different generations through a lifestyle blog. Hair trends, fashion and hobbies will vary, but we love and learn from each other and help each other to be the best we can be. One of our favorite things to say as we run out the door, after “I Love You”, is, “I’ve got places to go, people to see, and things to do.” So I guess what I am saying is we are all very busy, but we come together and have a great time with each other and share what we have learned.
