The ceremony as told by Heidi
Since the wedding was an hour away from home, after the dinner, we drove to Salt Lake to spend the night so we didn’t have to rush in the morning. Best decision ever. The day was absolutely perfect! Great weather, beautiful scenery and a bride that was cool, calm and collected. I was amazed of her show of strength and control. This was a proud mommy moment for sure. One of my best friends from high school, Jackie, came and stayed with us. She thought of the details I didn’t have the presence of mind to think of. She made sure we had breakfast ordered and kept everyone calm. A couple of my nieces, Nicole and Cassie who were also bridesmaids were there to help as well. Nicole did hair and makeup for Cassie who was there to offer moral support. Another one of my best friends from high school, Barbara made Hannah a gorgeous robe with “Bride” in rhinestones on the back so Hannah could wear that around the hotel room while getting ready. The little details mattered and made all the difference to start the morning off right. The ceremony was in the Salt Lake City LDS temple. It was sweet and fitting for Hannah and Cole. There were temple matrons attending to Hannah’s every need. They were loving and kind and they walked her through every step. There may or may not have been things that didn’t go as planned but we didn’t notice because everything and everyone seemed so calm and at peace.
My number 4 tip is although the details and little things made a difference, at the end of the day, the important thing is that they got married. Although everything didn’t go perfectly according to plan it didn’t seem to matter in the end. They got married! Check! Done! Now onto the party!!!!!!!!
